What is a perfect square number?
A perfect square is a number that can be expressed as the product of some integer with itself, for example, 1, 4, 9, 16, 25, 36, and so on.
Why is it not possible to calculate a negative/minus number?
It’s not possible to calculate the square root of a negative number due to it being impossible for any real number, when multiplied by itself, to give a negative result. Any number multiplied by itself will always give a positive result, regardless of whether the original number was positive or negative.
Fun Fact – It’s believed the Babylonians were the first civilization to come up with a method for approximating square roots.
